BIS Registration for IT and Electronic Goods

BIS Registration is mandatory for all the foreign as well as Indian manufacturer for their Electronics and IT products. All manufacturers have to get BIS registration before sell of their Electronics and IT products in Indian market. There is a list of Electronics and IT products that are mandatory for BIS Registration. Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has a department called Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) department that provide the BIS registration for all mandatory products. Registration Process:-

First the product has to be tested from BIS Recognized Laboratories (Click here for lab list http://crsbis.in/BIS/lablist.do). The Laboratory issued the test report for the product. After that apply online in BIS and submit the hard copy of all documents including test report to BIS registration department.

Following Documents Required for Lab Testing:-

1. Business License of Manufacturer.
2. Trade Mark/Brand documents.
3. Technical Details of Product.
4. Samples of Product.

Following Documents Required for BIS Registration:-

1. Address authentication document of manufacturing unit.
2. Legal documents of Indian Representative (in case of foreign manufacturer).
3. Brand authorization and brand declaration letter.
4. Brand related documents.
